Features:
The Model 8-2000, 8-4000, and 8-6625 weld heads are orbital weld heads for fusion TIG (GTAW) welding of fittings, tubing and thin wall pipe. The narrow width of these heads makes it ideal for limited clearance applications, such as welding fitting to fitting or fitting to valve body assemblies. Welds materials such as stainless steel, titanium, Hastelloy™ and other autogenously weldable alloys.
A key feature of the Model 8 Series weld heads is its unique cooling design, allowing high duty-cycle welding. When connected to an AMI cooling unit, all components of this weld head are liquid-cooled, including cables, clamp housings and electrode rotor (patent pending).
A variety of clamps are available to perfectly suit every welding application: For fitting-to-fitting or tube-to-fitting welds the standard (narrow) clamps require the least amount of stick-out.
Where more stick-out is available, and additional support is desired, each of these heads may be fitted with an adapter ring to enable the use of wider clamps. The Model 8-2000 (for sizes up to 1.66”/42mm) may be fitted with 9-1500 standard clamps or 9E-1500 wide clamps. The Model 8-4000 (for sizes up to 3.50”/89,1mm) may be fitted with 9-3500 standard clamps or 9E-3500 wide clamps.
