Barbara K. Henon Ph.D. is Manager of Technical Publications at Arc Machines, Inc. in California, USA. She is primarily responsible for writing articles on customer applications of orbital welding in a wide range of industries which include semiconductor, biopharmaceutical, food and dairy, power generation, and petroleum. She has twelve years experience in the field as an instructor of orbital tube welding and writes operator training manuals for Arc Machines, Inc.

Dr. Henon received her degree in the Biological Sciences from the University of Southern California and did postdoctoral research in neurophysiology at the Beckman Research Institute at the City of Hope Medical Center before joining Arc Machines in 1984. A member of AWS since 1988, and a member of ISPE, she is also active in the ASME. Dr. Henon is the current Vice Chair of the ASME Bioprocess Equipment Main Committee. She has been a member of the Materials Joining Subcommittee since 1989 which, along with the Main Committee and the other sub-committees, have written and published the ASME Bioprocessing Equipment Standard (BPE- 97).
